I recently read Frankenstein again, after many years. I was struck for the imaginary but also by the fact that the creature that I saw in the book had nothing to do with the creature that is normally portrayed in pop culture. He is profound, tragic and very empathetic, not the growling brute that you normally see in film.
So I decided to explore some ideas on how I imagined him, trying to find that contrast between a massive imposing physique, but a vulnerable and tragic demeanour.
